5 x dreamiest places to stay in East Bali

Ready for an adventure off the beaten path, away from the crowds? Escape to East Bali for the untouched and authentic Bali vibe, lush jungle, hidden waterfalls, magical Mount Agung (the view of this mountain will take your breath away!), endless rice fields and coconut tree forests.

We have traveled often to this area and have slept at the most dreamy places in the world. So beautiful words could not even begin to describe, it's just something you must experience once in a lifetime.

Here are 5 of our favorite, dreamiest stays in East Bali

1. Camaya Bali

Our stay at this remote bamboo dream home on the edge of a green lush jungle valley with the most magical view over mount Agung was truly a once in a lifetime experience! Check our Camaya Bali vlog and photo diary of our night stay here.

The house is completely open, you’re fully out in nature 24/7 (yes, that does include some bugs too welcome to the jungle!). It’s located in the beautiful Karangasem area close to a little village called Selat. You will wake up by sunrise with the most breathtaking view on Mount Agung.

Book your stay at Camaya.

2. Hideout Bali

Casually basking in your flower bath at your bamboo cottage, with nothing but the sound of the jungle river? Staying at Hideout Baliis a dream. Eco-designed and build with local bamboo, the Hide Out houses are really one of the most incredible - and secluded places we've ever stayed. They recently build a second house, that also has a pool. Couples and honeymooners, make sure to book a few nights here for the most romantic experience of your life!

3. Pondok Pisang Bali

Probably one of our all-time favorite places to stay in Bali. Pondok Pisang was our regular island escape with friends in our first year on the island back in 2009. We booked the seaside bungalow and just chilled there for days, talked all night under the stars, ate banana pancakes for breakfast on the patio and walked on our flipflops into the nearest local village for some home-cooked Indo food. Simple, local, serene, it is truly a heartwarming place where you can find your own peace in paradise.

4. Komune Resort

This surf resort and beach club is perfect to hang out for the day at the infinity pool or to stay a few days to escape the crowds. The resort is well known for its famous waves of Keramas just out front. The resort is very family-friendly with lots of activities for the little ones, but also suitable for a healthy getaway. As they also offer daily yoga and fitness classes, host retreats and have a health food cafe at the resort.

5. Wapa di Ume Sidemen
Having the most breathtaking view over the lush valley of the Sidemen mountain area, plus all the luxury that Wapa di Ume resort has to offer - from infinity pools, flower baths, Balinese massages at the spa, daily yoga and amazing food - it's everything you could ever wish for a dreamy Bali escape. From here you can do many activities and trips to waterfalls.
