Our nature escape to Samanvaya in Sidemen

We went for a little getaway to Sidemen, a breathtaking lush region, nestled in the eastern part of Karangasem. Surrounded by hills, valley and vulcano views and rice fields.

Samanvaya Resortis surrounded on all sides by rice fields and lush greenery. A haven of tranquility, giving a taste of Bali's authentic east side. The swimming pools, yoga barn, spa, and restaurant are all accessible by little tiny pathways. We began our stay with a yoga and meditation session. We were led through by a teacher from Sidemen named Koman. We couldn't have had a more pleasant and relaxing start to our short vacation.

The Villas
We stayed in Villa Joglo, which was the largest villa of the hotel. The villa is styled with unique Javanese furniture, has a private swimming pool, outside shower and an inside and outside sitting area. We could basically chill in the villa all day long. And not to forget the large sized bathroom, which was absolutely stunning! The bed was placed in the middle of the all-window room and we left the curtains open, so the natural light would wake us up early in the morning. It was so peaceful, we wished we could wake up to this view every morning.

Restaurant
The resort's restaurant Asri Dining is open all day - and offers a delicious range of food from early morning till late night. 

Exploring Sidemen
What we loved about our escape to Samanvaya, is that they can arrange your whole experience for you with their custom tours and activities. This way you can explore Sidemen together with local guides from Sidemen.

We meet Gusti, a local guide that showed us the most beautiful places in and close to Sidemen. Who took us along the most incredible nature hikes, hidden waterfalls and local sights. 

Wellness
Another amazing thing is that the resort has their own spa and store. Ananda Spa is known as one of the best spas and what is better than ending an active day with a good massage? Also the store, called Kollektiv, is one to visit. They sell beautifully handcrafted products, kimonos and jewelry.
